FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MONARCH SCHOOL OF NEW ENGLAND CELEBRATES ITS NHCDFA and COMMUNITY PARTNERS WITH THE COMPLETION OF ITS NEW REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL / VOCATIONAL CENTER

In August 2016, the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) awarded $5.325 million in tax credits to 17 nonprofits in New Hampshire. The Monarch School of New England was proud to be part of this group, being awarded $500,000 to build a new regional high school and vocational center for students with disabilities in Rochester, New Hampshire.

One year later in August 2017, the newly built school stands in a beautiful, open field on 13 Monarch Way, ready to assist young adults with disabilities, to learn academics and prepare for entry into the workforce.

None of this would have been possible without the support to-date, of our 12 community partners participating in the CDFA’s tax credit program in addition to a generous donation from the Joseph Behre Family. As 2017 moves towards 2018, more new partners are expressing interest in purchasing tax credits.

The New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority’s tax credit program works for the Monarch School of New England because when a business partner purchased a tax credit in support of the school, not only did the school receive the donation but the business partner received a 75 percent state tax credit as a result of that donation.

As David Mansfield, Chief Executive Officer of The Provident Bank states, “The Provident Bank is a big believer in CDFA because it allows businesses to give more, which enables a non-profit like the Monarch School of New England to do a project on this scale.” Similar support is reflected in the 13 testimonials of our business partners that follow.

Diane Bessey, Executive Director and Susan DeRoy, Director of Business Development at the Monarch School of New England couldn’t agree more. “To see what has been done over the past year with the support of our business partners is amazing. We are grateful and so thrilled.”

Testimonials:

Bank of New Hampshire is extremely proud to support the Monarch School of New England in creating this beautiful new school, which is going to be a great community asset for years to come. It has been a pleasure to work with the entire staff and development team to do a true, community build. We are very pleased to support this project and look forward to what the students will accomplish here in the future.

I believe that if the community does well for you, you should give back to the community. My mother taught me that what matters most in life is what you give to others. These special kids at the Monarch School of New England really touch my heart. This school does so much for the community. The Joseph Behre Family

BootLegger’s Footwear had been a neighbor of the Monarch School of New England at its Gonic site for over 10 years.  Not a day went by that we didn’t see the dedication and good work that the staff did with the children. We’re so happy for you but we will miss you. We will miss the kids.

Cummings, Lamont & McNamee, P.A., has been involved with the Monarch School of New England for many years. As their auditor, we’ve had an inside look at the commitment and work that is being done by the school. Our work and relationship with the Monarch School of New England has allowed us to say that this is the type of organization we want to support. In addition, several of us in the firm live in Strafford County and want to support great non-profits in this area. We think the school is fantastic; they are always very willing to extend out into the community for other non-profits. These are just some of the reasons why we support the Monarch School of New England.

The Monarch School of New England tugs at the heart. The services provided here at the school help people in so many ways that my firm, DeStefano Architects, couldn’t say ‘no’ to supporting in as many ways as possible.

Eastern Propane & Oil is strongly committed to helping the communities in which we live and work. The Monarch School of New England is one of a kind and an essential resource to its students. We are so proud to be part of this effort and to support those students who come from the communities we serve.

The Monarch School of New England is an incredible asset to the greater Rochester community. The school’s unwavering commitment to quality education and care is beyond commendable. Federal Savings Bank is proud to support the expansion initiatives of the school and we couldn’t be more pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the future success of this organization.

The Rochester community has always supported Nantucket Beadboard Company. We got involved in the State of New Hampshire’s tax credit program for the Monarch School of New England as a way to demonstrate our support for the Rochester Community; it’s community taking care of community.

Profile Bank, a true community-based bank serving the Rochester Community for over 100 years, is happy to participate in the tax credit program to assist the Monarch School of New England achieve its goal for a new High School.   The new campus addresses a vital need in the community with safe surroundings that enhances educational and vocational development for the students.

We began looking for a building in 2007; the same year I was invited to be on the Monarch School of New England’s Board of Directors. To go from that point where we had nothing to now having this beautiful building in 2017 is amazing. And to watch the special people inside this new school, do what they do for the students here, how can you not be happy? This is why I became involved with the tax credit program for the Monarch School of New England. (Rich Hilow, LPL Financial)

S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. has been a partner with the Monarch School of New England since 2014, when we contributed our services, pro bono, to the elementary school project. It was so successful that when this new opportunity to be part of the tax credit program was presented to us, we knew we’d be part of it. It not only made good business sense but it was also a great fit for our company as we have a long history of supporting local, educational programs.

Congratulations to the Monarch School of New England for accomplishing such an ambitious and worthwhile project. The new school is well deserved and will provide a beautiful and supportive learning environment for its students and caring staff.  Its overall mission, along with CDFA credits, were important factors in our decision to support the school. The Provident Bank is a big believer in CDFA because it allows businesses to give more, which enables a non-profit like the Monarch School of New England to do a project on this scale. Everything came into alignment with this initiative and we are proud to stand with the other donors in support of this magnificent school.

Over the years, Waste Management has watched the Monarch School of New England do great work with its students.  I’ve toured their facilities and it’s clear they’ve outgrown their high school and vocational space in Gonic. This new campus is well-deserved and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they will do with this space.
