New provider joins Goodwin Community Health and Student Health Center

SOMERSWORTH, NH - Greater Seacoast Community Health welcomed Kelly Faul, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, as a new primary care provider at their Goodwin Community Health Center in Somersworth. She is also seeing patients at the Somersworth Student Health Center, a school-based health care initiative of Greater Seacoast.

Kelly graduated from the University of New Hampshire’s Family Nurse Practitioner program in December 2024. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a nurse for 23 years, including working as a school nurse for the last eight years.

While working as a school nurse, Kelly often would think, “Wouldn’t it be great if I could just look into a student’s ears, tell them if they had an ear infection, and then prescribe them medication for it?”

The push to pursue her master’s degree came when the COVID-19 pandemic first began. As the school nurse at Barrington Middle School, Kelly was charged with leading the school’s health and safety efforts on the frontline of the pandemic. This work inspired her to continue her education in health care.

For her nurse practitioner program’s clinical work, Kelly interned at Greater Seacoast’s Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth. During her internship, she learned about a position opening at Goodwin that also worked in the school-based health program.

“It was the perfect opportunity for me and my background as a school nurse,” said Kelly.

Kelly is accepting new patients of all ages at both Goodwin Community Health and the Somersworth Student Health Center. For more information on becoming a patient, visit tinyurl.com/GSCHpatients.

While at the student health center, Kelly is able to provide sports physicals, assist with concussion management, strep cultures, treat sports related injuries, and administer immunizations as well as address any acute care needs. For more information about the Somersworth Student Health Center program, visit getcommunityhealth.org/services/sshc.

“I enjoy community health because of the positive impact it can have on patients and families,” said Kelly. “The magnitude of the services Greater Seacoast Community Health offers—especially in preventive care, which I’m passionate about—is something I greatly appreciate.”
