Celebrate the kick off to the holiday season downtown Rochester!
Join the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce as they present the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Watch as the magical downtown tree is lit for the first time for the 2017 holiday season. Those who attend will also enjoy many other festivities throughout the evening.
Activities The Evening Include:
A reading of The Night Before Christmas by Mayor Caroline McCarley;
Cookie decorating with the Rochester Child Care Center at the Chamber of Commerce;
Cookies and hot chocolate at Citizens Bank;
Caroling by the Frisbie Carolers;
Dance performances by Studio 109 Dance, Voice & Drama;
Nativity Scene Photo Booth by The Commons Church; and
A special visit from Santa at Federal Savings Bank
In conjunction with the Tree Lighting, there will be a collection taking place to
benefit children at the Homeless Center for Strafford County, sponsored by Service Credit Union.
Items to be donated are:
New books (for ages 8-17)
New Puzzles (for ages 12+)
Paper Towels
Toilet Paper
These items can be dropped off at the Holiday Tree Lighting event or items can be brought to Service Credit Union branches in Rochester located at 90 South Main Street and 116 Farmington Road (Inside Walmart) or the Chamber of Commerce office through December 16, 2017.
